Select which issue you want to see from the nav bar at the top. (No nav bar? This site is built with frames. Scroll down, hit "home" and hopefully you can start over with frames.)

Roll your mouse over the thumbnails. If a story has been transcribed, you'll be able to click the story. Please note that not all the articles have been transcribed, and not all of them will be.

Since the thumbnails are quite small, you won't be able to read all the headlines, I hope eventually to put a short description of the link's contents in the browser status bar (like what shows up when you roll over the nav bar) for every link on the thumbnails. So far, none have them. (And I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it . . .)

The Plan

This site is being constructed in 5 phases:

Phase 1: scan all the pages, transcribe all the text, post it. >> As done as it's going to get. (If someone writes and begs me to transcribe a particular article they see in the thumbnails, I might do it... maybe...)

Phase 2: compile a listing of all the bands with links to a) NCFC artilces and b) outside websites. >> a. is done, b. will be done as I find/am given links.

Phase 3: write/collect band bios. (Are you connected to any of the bands written about in NCFC? Click here for more information.) >> ongoing.

Phase 4: convert music samples of the bands to mp3, post on the site >> ongoing.

Phase 5: with proper permission, make an NCFC radio station so you can hear full tracks of the bands featured in the 'zine. >> I have abandoned this phase...

Background

Remember, everything on this site was originally published in print form, in black and white, in 1982, 1983, and 1984. Nothing has been updated (yet).

As more content is added to this website, any text that appears in colour will be new and not part of the original publication. New images (in colour or b/w) will be more obvious because they won't be in the original thumbnail.

Addresses and phone numbers have been deleted since I'm sure most are obsolete.

The only changes have been to (hopefully) correct all our typos and spelling mistakes. (Oh to have had a spell check back then!)
