Band low point

DH: "Frank told Chris and me that the band had broken up. 2 weeks later they are reformed and playing - that was not amusing."

Anything else?

DH: If I am right, the name was a spin on the book "The Grapes of Wrath" which someone had read, possibly Paul T.

DH: We practiced at Pike's house in Bells Corners, then moved to Vig's place in the basement. That was the most practical as Mike Hillis lived downtown and bussing to Bells Corners was terrible (still is I think). The band high point for me was playing for people who dropped by to see us practice. I think the low point for me was seeing them play in Decemeber and realizing that they were alot better without me. The drummer brought a new stlye which perfectly suited the music and you could tell that they "worked" on the song arrangements - which we never did.

Derivatives

Lead singer Mike Hillis went on to front Porcelain Forehead.

Brian Bunt went on to Raw Sewage.

David McCaig went on to play guitar with Last Prayer and Top Ten.

Drew Headrick orignally played with the Public Servants (an early Ottawa punk band that "played mainly covers and did some shows with the Restless Virgins"), then after leaving the Angry Raisins, went on to drum with Target 21 and Raw Sewage.

Drew Headrick: I was asked to come into the band after the Public Servants broke up. I knew Brian and Mark through Paul Trunley who was in my grade, and Brian lived right behind Bell High School where we went.

_____

Sad new: David McCaig died on Monday, may 26, 2003, after a valiant struggle with brain cancer. David was one of the three founding members of No Cause for Concern? fanzine. He was involved in a number of bands and very active in "No Pigs" and "Youth Culture Promotions", he was creative and enthusiastic and contributed greatly to the Ottawa punk scene in the early '80s.

Where are they now

Drew Headrick: Advertising Sales Rep. Kemptville Ontario; "I was married in 1983 so after Raw Sewage, I drifted out of the "scene" and did not play again till with Brian and Dave in 1990 (or so). I started a Jam Session with the local Youth Centre in Kemptville for 3 years and we put on 2 Christmas concerts and a few live shows."
